For the record, Thursday was my 30th birthday. I loved it. My favorite is when the people you love sing the 'Happy Birthday' song for you in their somewhat off-key voices; but they do it anyway, just because they love you. People sing that song because no matter how well (or not) they sing, it always makes the person celebrating the birthday, smile. The song is ingenious.
Anyway, this little lady was part of the reason 30 just rocks. She takes up more than 1/3 of my heart...it is a proven fact that I couldn't live without this look:
...or this one...
Here is the token family shot:
So, wow...how cool is it that this amazing guy is MY husband...
...oh, and there is emma-bear too...
Humma was in town and got to pose with Mr. Colin. She helped him with his bike, played with him and pushed him on the swings. Humma is a cool lady. She stayed with the kids while Chris and I went out for dinner.
We had an awesome dinner and dare I say, romance may have been involved?? *smirk*...Chris is stellar and yes, I am a lucky mama...
Ok better post this before I get distracted...xoxo
ps- Tomorrow we are having a prime-rib dinner with Humma and Papa (and Lisa and James)...Chris is cooking...mmmmmmmmmmmm
Today goes down in the record books. One of the best. I just love a day where the man I love is home from a war that doesn't seem to end, my little man comes up to greet me in bed with an 'i love you mom' and 'let me kiss your owie', and a little lady that wiggles and giggles when she sees me. I love them so much.
Three people I can not live without:
Colin had school today so much of the day is Chris, Emma and I. However, once we picked the little man up, we met Lisa and James at Boom Boom Mex Mex; which is an awesome Mexican place that is so good, the lines are out the door every single night.
The place can not hold a candle to Bay Area Mexican food but it is a close second.
Then, Lisa and I went for a walk in the park while Chris stayed and watched the three kiddos. Today was gorgeous. The weather...the company...
...here is some proof:
I know I know...adorable.
A brief update on Dalilah is that she has a UTI and she is now on antibiotics. I am unclear as to if she is leaving the hospital as of yet. BUT yay for getting to the bottom of her dehydration. We love you Melanders.
Ok, time to go but Humma is coming to visit tomorrow. Yay! xoxo
We just adore this family. They are the greatest friends and may as well be our family. They are in our hearts daily but especially right now...
Here are the Mighty Melanders: Matt, Beth, Ellah and Dalilah:
Dalilah is the newest Melander. She is currently being hospitalized to run tests to figure out why she isn't eating. She is currently being fed through IV and will be in the hospital until further notice.
Miss Ellah loves her baby sister immensely as do we all:
Please say a pray for this amazing family that Baby Dalilah not go too crazy over yucky hospital food (:)) and all jokes aside, the doctors get some answers...
We love you little lady. We will have you in our hearts. xoxo
I apologize for such a delay in writing but since Chris has been home (I love the sound of that), I have been so preoccupied. We have been extremely busy but all good stuff. My days are sort of running together but I think it was Friday that we went and had some sushi for lunch (with Miss Emma in tow), record store shopping (we found 'Howard the Duck' among other things) and just a nice afternoon together. Later on Friday, Jon Danberry drove up from New Jersey and stayed over. Marlon, Lisa and James came over as well which is always a good time. In addition, Enderli and Serle stopped over as well! Loved it.
Saturday was the wig/funny hat party. We celebrated 30 for both Jon and I. This gives you an idea as to how hysterical some of us looked (some whom attended are not pictured):

Later, we played outside by the fire and had many, many laughs.
Sunday, was much more tame. Easter Sunday.
We went as a family to church which was very nice. The kids were really good for the most part but it definitely took both of us to keep them smiling for the whole hour or hour and a half. The music was really good. My parents showed up around 11:30am and they had bought a new bike for Colin for his birthday. He is a natural:
Colin and Emma loved their time with all of our wonderful company; especially Grandma and Pop Pop.
Today was a little rough at the start since Colin did NOT want to go to school since Grandma and Pop Pop hadn't left yet and Daddy was at home. He felt left out, I am sure. BUT he did great after the initial drama of saying 'so long' for a few hours.
When I went to pick him up, his teacher told me they learned about germs. So, he got to learn what Papa studies for a living. Nice. They used glitter/sparkles as a the prop for germs. Then, they would shake hands with one another and observe the sparkles they had passed on or received from their friends. Finally, they would wash their hands, then shake hands...and then re-observe...very cute little project.
Anyway, my eyes are getting heavy...I wanted to take this time to say Happy Birthday to Heidi!! And also to Little Miss Anna!!
Happy Happy 4 years to Matt and Sarah.
Speaking of which: can Baby Sadie get any cuter?? My goodness:
Love that little lady.
Have I mentioned it enough how lucky I am?! Best family ever. xoxox
